Why would I want to hire someone to do these check ups on my home, I can just have my neighbor do it?
As we all know, we extend our aloha to our friends and neighbors as often as we can, but life happens, things come up and procrastination occurs. It can be an uncomfortable position for both parties when something does go wrong and the intention was good. To avoid these relationship problems and keep your home in top condition it’s best to hire a professional whose job it is to get there at a specific time and perform certain tasks on a regular basis.
What services are provided by Key to Kauai?
There are several different service plans. Essential, Premium and Premium Plus:
* The Essential Service Plan is a monthly service and it consists of a scheduled walk through of your home, windows opened to air out, Inspection of sinks and faucets checked for any potential leakage issues. Inspect for signs of insects or rodents. Inspect for any areas that may be susceptible to breaking and entering. To meet the exterminators at a prescheduled time to allow pest control treatment. To schedule necessary repairs with qualified service providers and to check the work preformed each time. To start your automobile every two months to keep the battery up and running. * The Premium Service Plan is basically a Bi-Monthly inspection of the home with the same services offered in the Basic Plan only more often. Random drive by’s and in home inspections will occur as well.
* The Extended Service Plan includes services that are catered to the exact nature of your needs it may be a Weekly inspection if you so prefer or Bi-Monthly and may be as simple as having fresh papayas and yogurt in refrigerator awaiting you for your first morning’s breakfast. And as complete as your car washed and shined and waiting for you at the airport! Your carpets cleaned windows sparkling and your home made completely ready prior to your arrival in every way you would like. There are lots of services, (see our list of unlimited possibilities on the front page of our website) and, if you think of something that’s not on our list. Let us know we may be able to accommodate that also!
What does the Basic Service Plan, and Standard Service Plan and the Extended Service Plan cost?
*The Essential Service Plan is once a month and can begin as low as $125 per month. We spend at least one hour in your home and on your property per month. Random drive bys and interior checks as time permits. You will receive a full report with photos on your home once a month. Each home will be evaluated before an actual service fee is discussed with you. One service inspection report will be provided each month along with your monthly statement and a complete breakdown of repairs and services during that period. At the end of the year you will receive a year end report for your tax preparer.
* Premium Service Plan is Bi- Monthly. This plan can start as low as $175 per month. We will spend at least one hour in your home on each scheduled visit and perform visual and written inspections with photos each time, two service inspection reports will be provided each month along with your monthly statement and a complete breakdown of repairs and services during that period. At the end of the year you will receive a year end report for your tax preparer. Random drive bys and inspections will occur during this service plan as well.
*The Premium Plus Service Plan is made custom to your specific needs, depending on your specific requests this service will begin at $225 and go up depending on your requirements.25
Will I have to pay a monthly service rate while I am occupying my home?
No, but you will be required to give Key to Kauai as much advance notice as possible of your arrival and departure dates. Billing will stop during the months you are on island. Unless you would still prefer that we manage the repairs and scheduled services while you’re here. Then a reduced rate would apply.
What if there is a problem with our home ?
When problems occur we handle it! You can count on professional handling of your home issues. We notify you of any problems and make recommendations to correct them. We put our knowledge of community trades people to work for you. We will get bids for you or simply organize the necessary service, meet with the repair person and admit them into your home. We will check the repair persons work, re-set alarms and lock up following their departure. We can also send digital photo of problems or completed repairs by email. You as the homeowner has full control and the final say on your repairs. Key to Kauai merely carries out the homeowners wishes. We become your eyes, ears and voice, when you can not be here to manage your home details.
If I refer a neighbor or a friend to your company will I receive a discount?
Of course! Upon the successful signed written agreement of the person you refer we will apply a $50 discount on your next month’s statement! We really appreciate your confidence as we believe that the highest form of a compliment that you can give us is a referral to a friend or neighbor.
If I call or e-mail Key to Kauai with a special question or request how long will your response take?
We can usually respond within 12 hours. If special services are requested such as grocery shopping, transporting your car to the airport for your arrival, flowers, or in-cleaning is your request it may take up to 48 hours to have these services preformed. But we will do our very best to accomplish your request in the timeliest way possible!
Do you have any references?
Yes we do and we will be happy to provide them upon request.
What commitments from us are necessary to sign a Service Plan Contract with Key to Kauai?
Key to Kauai will need a $500 security deposit to be held in its repair account for any repairs that may come up, up to $500, anything over this amount must be approved by Owner.
Key to Kauai will require that their business be named on your home insurance policy.
Key to Kauai will require your contact information and a name and contact for a second in charge in case of emergency.
A contract will be provided for your review and acceptance that may answer any and all questions you may have about how our service works.
Key to Kauai will make a full commitment to you that we will fulfill our services to you for the specified period of the contract and request that no contract is for less than a 6 month period.
What about my Guests and Relatives coming while I’m not there?
No problem, we will be happy to help them during their stay. Direct them to activities and be close by to answer questions or help them with directions or any other needs. We will be there to help them settle in comfortably.
What about major repair projects.
If you would like our services can be provided to help you get through these projects and we will work with you to find out what kind of help you need, whether it be getting bids from Contractors, overseeing the contractor’s progress.
We will be glad to help we will be available to talk about your needs during the construction process. Because we can’t all be in all the places we need to be at once Key to Kauai can be here to attend to your responsibilities for you.
